About
If you're seeking a memorable dining experience in Seignosse, look no further than Le Surfing since 1988. Nestled at the picturesque Place des Estagnots, this restaurant embodies a laid-back surf vibe that has attracted locals and visitors alike for decades. Just a stone's throw from the beach, it creates an inviting atmosphere perfect for families, couples, and friends looking to savor good food in a relaxed environment.
Stepping into Le Surfing, you'll quickly notice the warm welcome provided by a dedicated team that prides itself on excellent service. As Roger Moore notes, the friendly staff goes above and beyond to ensure your experience is enjoyable. While some visitors have commented on the pace of service, it's essential to embrace the surf culture — it's about relaxation and good company, not the rush of a Michelin-starred venue.
The menu offers a delightful range of options, making it ideal for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Highlights include the much-raved-about halloumi fries, which are a hit among younger diners, and the stunning barrel bowls featuring fresh ingredients and robust flavors. Don't miss out on sharing dishes like the Lamb or Dorade, both praised for their rich tastes and creative presentation.
Every visit feels like a celebration, especially on nights with live music filling the air. Dining al fresco while enjoying performances creates a vibrant atmosphere that enhances the culinary experience. Matthias Tarabori and his family exemplify the joyful spirit of this place; when it comes to wholesome family meals and relaxed fun, Le Surfing hits the mark.
While prices may lean towards the higher side, many agree that the food and ambiance justify the cost. It’s not just about the meal; it’s about creating cherished memories amid a friendly environment. As Jacqueline Zelwis remarks, even with a hint of criticism regarding portion sizes, the overall experience remains commendable.
In a world of fleeting dining trends, Le Surfing stands as a beloved local institution since 1988. Whether you're a beachgoer or simply in the mood for good food with family, don't hesitate to drop by Le Surfing; it's a culinary gem waiting to welcome you into its fold.
“ Last summer, my family and I visited this place in Seignosse and I promised my kids we'd return if we were back in town. We love it here! From the warm welcome to the delicious food and relaxed, cool atmosphere, everything is fantastic. ”
“ We visited Le Surfing at Estagnots, Seignosse several times during our two week stay in Hossegor. The whole team there are super friendly, and the food is superb. Great for breakfast, lunch (my son especially loved the halloumi fries and the barrel bowls are really good!), and dinner (the sharing dishes, Lamb or Dorade are amazing). I have to say I’m a bit surprised by some comments in reviews about service and price. Firstly, the service is great - super attentive and friendly. Yes there are a couple of younger waiting staff who are being trained - but that’s the same in *every* restaurant of this nature. Don’t come to a surf-vibe, chilled out, intimate, relaxing venue and expect a Michelin starred experience. They all care, and show it! The pricing is spot on, in its locality. Fantastic location, steps from the beach in a prime location 5 minutes from Lac d’Hossegor. One some nights they have live music, the stage is well done in the restaurant, so book a table and enjoy your food whilst watching and listening to great live acts with a fantastic atmosphere. No out of control “drunks”, a safe enjoyable environment with everyone having fun. I can’t recommend this place enough. It’s my 15 year old son’s favourite place to be - and my wife and I love it. Often families at lunchtime with younger kids who are all welcomed by what comes across to us as a “family” owned restaurant. Go - you won’t be disappointed!! Final note - thanks Basil and the whole team - you have a big impact on our holiday every year we come to enjoy your restaurant. ”
“ would’ve wished for more sauce on the Hawaiian bowl and flavor for the iced tea (it just tastes like bitter water), other than that the food was nice, especially the desert The decorations are really nice to just line the waiters I personally think it’s a bit overpriced but that’s just my opinion ”
“ Terrible, waited over an hour just to receive a drink! My husband ordered ribs and he received four for a main course! Not enough to feed a child. The chips were soggy and for 29euro it was a rip off. Had to wait too long for everything, the food the drinks and even to pay the bill. I am a local person and will not bother going here again. Such a shame even the waitress was not very impressive! ”
“ Really nice restaurant close to the beach with a very cosy and beautiful outdoor area. The atmosphere here is really nice. Food was good as well but on the pricier side. 15€ for three jackfruits tacos and 5€ for a bowl of fries. Would have wished for a bit more filling and flavour for that price. Overall would still recommend and def come again. Need and want to try their coffee and lunch menu that has more options. ”
